TikTok Trends, Moving Out & Letters to Our Younger Selves
Wednesday Feb 24, 2021
Wednesday Feb 24, 2021
What would you say in a letter to your younger self? In today's episode we discussed the advice we'd like to give to the versions of ourselves in primary school, high school and university. We also answered some agony aunt questions about the pressure to move out in your early twenties, and maintaining independence if you have moved back to your childhood home post university. Our weekly round up was chaotic as usual, moving from Pancake Day and TikTok pasta to Made in Chelsea and our love for Lucy Watson. All the good things.

This week as part of an upcoming YouTube collab, we read and discussed three books from Reese Witherspoon's book club - Outlawed by Anna North, Untamed by Glennon Doyle, and Whisper Network by Chandler Baker. Spoiler alert, welcome to a rant review. In our weekly round up we discussed pizza parties, Ciara's '10K a day' challenge and facing rejection as a writer. We are so excited to now have a Google form for our agony aunt column (linked in the bio of our insta), and gave some advice about responsibilities and travelling in your twenties.

Digital Detoxing, Schitt‘s Creek & New Morning Habits
Wednesday Feb 10, 2021
Wednesday Feb 10, 2021
For two people who work in social media and spend a lot of time creating content online, a digital detox is a serious challenge. We went 24 hours completely phoneless so that we could discuss it for this week's episode, including some embarrassing screen time stats. Derry Girls, Schitt's Creek and Firefly Lane feature in our weekly round up (which in lockdown could essentially be called a TV round up, let's be honest), and we looked at career changes and book recommendations for our agony aunt column. We now have an anonymous agony aunt form linked in the bio of our 'We're Spinning Plates' insta, so feel free to send us a question, the juicier the better.

Dream Dinner Parties, Addictive Reads & Dear Dolly
Wednesday Feb 03, 2021
Wednesday Feb 03, 2021
Who would you invite to your dream dinner party? We answered this question inspired by The Dinner List, a novel written by Rebecca Serle. It inspired conversations like: are Rory Gilmore's mistakes justified? Did Brooke Davis have the best character arc on One Tree Hill? In our round up we covered the Zoella sex toy scandal, It's a Sin, and a list of recent reads. To add some spice to our agony aunt column, we answered a question from "Dear Dolly", Dolly Alderton's agony aunt column for the Sunday Times.

Wednesday Jan 27, 2021
Wednesday Jan 27, 2021
What acts of deliberate self care do you turn to when you're feeling like you need a boost? This week we explored the actual meaning of self care, and listed our go-to acts of kindness. Our weekly round up consisted of bunny rabbits, crime dramas, and addictive new reads, and we announced our new Instagram account for We're Spinning Plates! In our agony aunt section, we discussed timekeeping and distancing yourself from friendships.

Wednesday Jan 20, 2021
Wednesday Jan 20, 2021
Becoming an Olympic gymnast, writing in Paris, learning to rollerskate...what would you do if you knew you wouldn't fail? This week we took the popular quote about failure and discussed our wildest dreams and biggest failures. We also discussed the new Sally Rooney novel and answered agony aunt questions about dating in lockdown and how to open up about financial insecurity.
Sending you love, and see you next week!

Feeling Stuck, Friendships Online & An Episode With Many Tangents
Wednesday Jan 13, 2021
Wednesday Jan 13, 2021
This episode has some serious "recorded this at 7am, oop we're in lockdown again" chaotic energy. We talked ruts and how to find your way out of them, adapting to uncertainty, and how to be a planner in a period of time when planning feels impossible. We also went on a LOT of tangents, including pottery and a post office faux pas. With an agony aunt question about online friendships, we looked back on our friendship origin story and offered some advice, and we also gave a non fiction book recommendation that might come in handy during lockdown.

Small Joys, Finding Roots & That First Cup of Tea in the Morning
Wednesday Jan 06, 2021
Wednesday Jan 06, 2021
Morning walks, chatting with a friend, that first hot drink of the day...inspired by an excerpt from Dolly Alderton's memoir, this week we're talking about small moments of joy, and finding gratitude for the mundanity of life. In our agony aunt column we answer questions about branching out from a 'niche' on YouTube, and tips for exploring a new city and tackling that loneliness.
We wanted to record something uplifting given the current situation in the UK - we're thinking of every single one of you, and hope that these weekly podcasts can be an opportunity for escapism as we go into this lockdown. We've all got this, and we'll see you next week!
